Tim in Durango No Longer Hypoglycemic and Sorted Out His Digestive Issues
My interest in diet grew dramatically when my doctor diagnosed me as “prediabetic” in 2004. I was hypoglycemic, as well. Before, I ate whatever I liked, which means what tasted good to me and what I had always eaten since childhood. My doctor signed me up for a six-week diet course with a nurse dietician at the hospital. She told me about carbohydrates, proteins and fats; how much to eat, when to eat, and what to eat.
So I started “counting carbs.” At the time I didn’t know of a key finding about the nutritional value of the foods we eat in the US. Soils are deficient in nutrients and minerals, so the foods grown in them are deficient, as well. So our bodies are deficient. My body was definitely deficient, but years went by without my knowing how and what I needed to do to change it. I had been suffering from digestive problems years after my nutrition course, even though I changed many eating habits. It wasn’t enough I guess. I was at a loss, actually.
Then one day a friend had me try a liquid whole food made with sea vegetables in an organic aloe vera juice. After a week of drinking 8 ounces a day, I felt something different in my metabolism and I noticed that I didn’t get hypoglycemic around mid-morning everyday. After about two weeks, I was certain that the drink was having an effect that no supplement or even food ever had. The difference was obvious. Harvested wild and sustainably from northern oceans, the sea vegetables possess the trace minerals my body had been lacking all along for efficient and effective metabolism. I have been drinking my ocean botanical drink for 3 and a half years almost daily.
I feel more energetic, I deal with stress better, my digestion is more normal and my appetite is healthier because I crave foods less and less that are bad for my blood sugar levels. I used to feel that I needed to eat more even though I was full. Now I don’t.
