Record Breaking Recovery from Bell’s Palsy
In August of 2008, I woke up with a distorted face. I had no movement on the right side of my face and my right eye was open and would not close. I thought I may be experiencing a stroke so a family member drove me to the emergency room of my local hospital where I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. I had never heard of Bell’s Palsy but learned that the three main causes are Herpes Virus, Lyme Disease or Stress. Tests revealed that I was not suffering from Herpes or Lyme and that Stress was what had caused this challenge for me. I was given a prescription for antibiotics and steroids to avoid permanent facial paralysis.
My research led me to discover that the normal recovery time for Bell’s palsy is 3-6 months and can lead to permanent facial paralysis if antibiotics and steroids are not taken.
I had been drinking liquid minerals and liquid calcium on a daily basis for six years prior to this incident with Bell’s palsy. There was a period of time in 2008 however, when I faced several stressful situations beyond my control that put me on a path of only 3-4 hours of sleep each night for weeks on end.
